NC SAVAN Coverage in Perquimans
North Carolina Statewide Automated Victim Assistance and Notification, or NC SAVAN, is the state VINE service. The official NC SAVAN overview connects users to VINELink North Carolina, the mobile app, and 1-877-NC-SAVAN, which is 1-877-627-2826. The service runs all day and supports phone, email, text, or app routes when those options are available for the matched record.
NC SAVAN electronically connects all North Carolina jails with Adult Correction prison, probation, and parole feeds. Albemarle District Jail uses VINELink as its own “Inmate Lookup” destination, so it is the only official online specific-person lookup offered by the regional jail for an adult arrested in Perquimans County. It can also report state custody events. It does not cover the Federal Bureau of Prisons, ICE custody, local police holding before jail admission, juvenile detention, or mental-health facilities.
The official VINELink North Carolina search screen is shown below. It is the correct state entry point for a Perquimans County VINE inmate check.
The search starts with North Carolina and a specific person, then relies on the reporting custodian’s status.
Perquimans Jail and State VINE Records
The same VINELink doorway can lead to records supplied by different agencies. An Albemarle District Jail result concerns regional local custody. An Adult Correction result concerns a state prison, probation, parole, or post-release supervision feed. The distinction controls what a release means. Bond or a jail sentence completion can end local custody, while an NC DAC prison release may start state community supervision.
For an Albemarle event, ask the jail whether the exit was bond, court order, time served, sentence completion, transfer, or detainer handoff. Those labels are not interchangeable. For a state record, compare OPI’s overall inmate status with “Probation/Parole/Post Release Status,” current location, and Actual Release Date. A person can be inactive in prison but active on supervision.
The court record adds the legal disposition. It can show a bond action, dismissal, judgment, or sentence, but it does not document the precise time jail staff completed the exit. VINELink, the custodian, OPI, and the court each answer a different part of the verification question.
Search One Perquimans Inmate on VINE
Begin with identity, not an assumed release date. VINELink is not a chronological Perquimans County release log. A name search may return more than one person, and a record from a different custodian may concern a different case. Keep the original arrest details available for comparison.
- Open VINELink and select North Carolina. The Albemarle District Jail site-specific link is also available from the official jail website.
- Choose “Find Someone” or the current person-search control. Enter the person’s name or identification number.
- Compare the returned name, age or birth information when shown, identification number, and listed custodian. Do not rely on the name alone.
- Open the correct record. Read custody status, location or custodian, and the latest event before selecting any alert option.
- If the person appears released or no longer held, call Albemarle District Jail for the release date, time, disposition, and destination. Continue with the receiving agency if the event was a transfer.
The full release verification path adds a court case and the receiving system when needed. The Perquimans County released inmate search explains how to reconcile Albemarle, NC DAC, court, federal, and immigration records without treating a missing result as proof of community release.
Perquimans VINE Release Result Fields
Fields vary by the agency feed and the live interface. A result can identify the reporting custodian and a current status, while available event data can support notification. A released or not-in-custody label describes only that custodian’s report. It does not create a complete history across every jail, prison, or hold.
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Name and identifier | Details used to separate the intended person from similar names. |
| Custody status | The status reported by the participating jail or Adult Correction feed. |
| Custodian or location | The agency responsible for the displayed event, not every possible authority. |
| Event information | A release, transfer, escape, recapture, or other supported change, depending on the feed. |
| Get Notified control | The entry point for available phone, email, text, or app alerts. |
A transfer is an exit from one facility, but it is not community release. If Albemarle reports that the person went to NC DAC, use OPI. If another county, federal authority, or immigration agency received the person, switch to that system. A release date without the destination can give the wrong impression.
Note: VINELink is an event and notification service, not a permanent Perquimans County booking or release archive.
Register Perquimans VINE Release Alerts
Registration follows the matched record. Confirm the person and custodian first because an alert attached to the wrong record cannot answer the intended question. NC SAVAN says registration is anonymous and confidential. Contact information and a phone PIN should never be exposed in a screenshot or shared with another person.
- Open the matched inmate record and select “Get Notified,” “Notify Me,” or the equivalent control.
- Choose an available phone, email, text, or app route. Options can differ by event and custodian.
- Enter the contact destination and complete the confirmation prompts. Check spelling and digits before saving.
- For telephone alerts, create a four-digit PIN and keep it private but easy to retrieve.
- Save the confirmation. When an automated call arrives, enter the PIN to acknowledge the notice and stop repeat calls.
State material says calls generally occur from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and may repeat until the PIN is entered or for up to 24 hours. Acknowledgment confirms receipt of the alert. It does not confirm that a person is free from all custody or that a listed release time is the physical exit time.
Supported notices can include release, transfer, escape, recapture, or death, depending on the custodian and event feed. State-prison policy can also provide projected-release and supervision-related notice. Availability must be checked on the matched record because every channel and event is not offered in the same way.
Keep the saved confirmation until the event is resolved. If an email or text fails, check the phone or app route that was registered, then verify directly with the custodian. NC SAVAN warns that no notification service should be the sole basis for a time-sensitive decision.
Limits of Perquimans VINE Checks
A result can lag behind an agency event. A “not found” response may also come from spelling, a transfer, a historical record outside the current display, or a custody type that NC SAVAN does not cover. One important local gap is a person who bonds at the magistrate level before admission to Albemarle District Jail. With no jail booking, there may be no VINELink jail record to find.
NC SAVAN also excludes a person held only at a local police location, juvenile detention, and mental-health facilities. It is not the BOP or ICE locator. For a state prisoner, compare OPI’s inmate and supervision status. For an Albemarle event, call (252) 335-4844 and ask whether the person went to the community or another custodian.
Perquimans VINE PINs and Transfers
The four-digit PIN has a narrow purpose: it acknowledges a phone notification and ends repeated calls for that event. It is not an offender number, jail code, or access key to private custody records. Store it safely and never place it in an image of the registration screen.
A transfer can break the alert chain. After notice that someone left Albemarle District Jail for another custodian, locate the person in the new system and register again if the service instructs. The NC SAVAN FAQ documents both the search gaps and the need to follow the reporting agency. Re-registration is especially important when the move changes which jail or prison feed owns the next event.
This local layer explains why NC SAVAN can be comprehensive across participating North Carolina systems without being a single permanent record. It links feeds. Each custodian still creates and controls its own status information.
Missing Perquimans VINE Results
Start with simple identity checks. Try the legal name and likely spelling, then confirm the identification number if one is available from the earlier record. A new surname, transposed birth information, or a similar name can change the result set. Do not widen the claim when the match is uncertain.
Next, identify the last known custodian. Albemarle District Jail can confirm whether an adult Perquimans arrest reached its booking process. If the person bonded before booking at the magistrate level, the absence is an expected coverage gap. If Albemarle reports transfer to NC DAC, another jail, BOP, ICE, or another authority, use that system rather than repeating the same VINELink search.
For an old state case, OPI may provide prison and supervision history even when a current VINE result is gone. For an already released local case, request Albemarle’s admission, release date and time, disposition, and destination. These records turn a missing live result into a narrow, attributed account of what occurred.
Do not substitute the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry for this work. That registry applies only to people legally required to register. It does not include every released person, does not prove the precise jail release date, and contains some information reported by the registrant. The county sheriff handles registry correction issues, while Albemarle, NC DAC, and the court remain responsible for their own records.
Federal custody needs a separate locator. The BOP Inmate Locator may show “Released” or “Not in BOP Custody,” while ICE uses its own detainee locator. Neither system feeds a Perquimans County VINE result. A USMS transfer can also require court or agency contact rather than a VINELink search.
